Dreaming 

of a lake,

surrounded by trees. 

Painting, 

trying to capture 

the tilt of all the trees and branches, 

the colorful display of leaves. 

Experimenting 

and 

playing 

with the watercolors, 

varying the intensity of the colors. 

Capturing 

the glorious reds, 

oranges, 

and yellows of autumn. 

Turning 

the painting around to show others, 

the leaves are now shades of 

blues 

and purples.  

Others marvel at my painting, 

as I begin another.
