Distracted

The iPad had my attention.
My husband had just come home
And he could not compete.
I nodded and mumbled
And continued to stare at the screen.
Five minutes later when I am done,
I notice him texting my son to find out his plans.
"You don't need to text him.
He is at work.
He'll be home at 5:30," I tell him.
"Why didn't you tell me that when I asked you earlier?" he asks.
"You didn't ask me," I reply.
"Yes, I did. You were on your iPad."
My iPad is now sitting face down,
so he can have my attention.

  1. Oh, the guilt of technology! I've been there, done that. Have a nice evening spending time with your husband! Jennifer Sniadecki
